Meet the Taylor Swift Candles
Nice to meet you, where you been
Alcott all started with a “Midnight Rain” scent. So of course, Taylor Swift candles had to be the first collection, an homage to the music that started it all. Swift’s discography made fertile ground for inspiration. As a lyricist, she takes listeners to a specific time and place, so her songs easily lend themselves to scents.
As a result, nearly a dozen candles were developed, and over 50 different scent formulations were tested over eight months. And while the scent that started it all did not make the cut, we think Swifties and candle aficionados alike will love the final five scents even more.

This was one of the must-have scents for this collection. We think this scent really smells like getting lost upstate, and, while autumnal, it’s not a bright, early autumn. It’s the end of the season when there’s a chill in the night air and you can’t help but reminisce on what has passed.
Cowboy Like Me
Notes of: Leather, Blood Orange, Vanilla
Season profile: Winter
The candle for you if: You think yearning is a competition.

Cowboy Like Me did not actually start as a Taylor Swift candle. It was first created for a rodeo-themed bachelorette in 2021 and has been in rotation ever since. But when we sat down to think about a candle that represented the best song off Evermore, it did smell like leather, blood orange, and vanilla — or what we call hustling for the good life.
Cruel Summer
Notes of: Citrus, Mint, Cedar
Season profile: Summer
The candle for you if: You truly believe real life starts after Labor Day.

This candle went through several iterations and has one of our most complex scent profiles. It’s light, it’s bright, but there’s also a little of something grounding. Which makes it versatile: great for a sunny summer day or a fever dream, high in the quiet of the night.
Lavender Haze
Notes of: Patchouli, Amber, Lavender
Season profile: Winter
The candle for you if: Cuffing season is your favorite season.

This is the most romantic and one of the boldest scents we’ve created. We thought this could have one of the most unique scent profiles inspired by a Taylor Swift song. So, we asked what staring at the ceiling at midnight smells like, and it turns out it’s just sexy.
The Last Great American Dynasty
Notes of: Champagne, Key Lime, Salt Air
Season profile: Summer
The candle for you if: When called crazy, you had the time of your life meeting the challenge.

This candle was a late-breaking addition to the lineup. When it came down to it, we couldn’t decide whether this scent should lean more female rage or beach house. At the end of the day, we decided on a lively, bright scent because we think Rebekah Harkness reveled in being a mad woman.
